Internal Audit and HR

Richmond and Kingston Councils have a shared internal audit team.  Their work includes regular audits of all aspects of local authority activity, including within local-authority-maintained schools.  Audits regularly include various HR related activities.

The HR shared service works closely with the Joint Internal Audit team in order to strengthen and maintain standards of HR practice within schools, irrespective of the HR provider(s).

Schools choosing alternative HR providers should ensure that, as part of the agreed service standards, they will promptly supply all information requested by the Authority/Internal Audit team.  Equally where a finding requires changes to services delivered via a third party provider appointed by the school, it is the schools responsibility to ensure recommendations are followed through.

Schools buying the HR Advice and Support SLA will receive guidance regarding HR processes which are consistent with the requirements of internal Audit.
